We were so excited to see so many new faces and we look forward to getting to know each one of you!
Just a recap on the information we gave out last night:
Practices to learn the audition choreography:
Jazz Choreography – Sunday, September 7 ( in Hanover Hall)
1 – 2 pm Intermediate
2 -3 pm Advanced
Contemporary Choreography – Monday, September 8 (in Hanover Hall)
7- 8 pm Intermediate
8 – 9 pm Advanced
Review of both audition pieces – Tuesday September 9 (in Rec center, room # TBA)
9:45 – 11 pm Optional for anyone
*Due to space availability, please only attend one session. The choreographed pieces are the same for both levels.*
**Anyone planning on auditioning must learn both pieces.**

The showcase will be held on this Saturday, at Kenan Auditorium. The show will start at 7PM, doors will open at 6PM.

MASTER CLASS MONDAY!
This week we have something different for Monday!
It’s “Master Class Monday”!
Last Thursday, Dance Co. had the opportunity to be taught by professional dancer and choreographer, Lionel Popkin.
Lionel Popkin is an LA based choreographer who traveled to Wilmington, with his other dancers to perform on UNCW’s campus Saturday night. He is known for his contemporary style, inspired by one of the pioneers of modern dance, Ruth St. Denis. The piece that he and his company performed on Saturday night, “Ruth Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” was a prime example of how Mr. Popkin is inspired by Miss Ruth. At the master class, Dance Co. was able to learn a piece of choreography that was presented at Mr. Popkin’s show. It was a great opportunity to learn and be inspired. Dance Co. greatly appreciated it!

Halloween Social!
Dance Co. had their annual Halloween Social on Sunday, October 20th 2013!
There were so many fun costumes from unicorns to jungle cats all the way to Toddlers in Tiaras to Minions!
Winning costumes were “The Black Eyed Peas,” Beanie Babies, and Ariel with Sebastian!
